When reading Gauntlett's introduction to the second edition of Web.studies, which is composed mainly of anecdotal evidence, I remembered this great episode of Dilbert, which analyses the changes "the fact" (also the title of the episode) is going through in modern society in part because of the influence of the internet:

Although you're point about anecdotal evidence (as thqat of Dilbert) is well taken, I would hope Gauntlett did 'better' in the rest of the book. I'll have a look and let you know....,

I would appreciate to know whether the rest of the book is worth reading, Nick. I know Gauntlett wrote some good stuff in the past. I think Ten things wrong with the effects model is brilliant, so I was shocked when I read the introduction to Web.Studies.
